Sue first started coaching swimming in 1975 while living in the UK. Her interest in swimming continued after moving to South Australia and promptly qualified in 1985 as Coach at one of Adelaide’s Masters Clubs. Luckily for us she moved to the Sapphire Coast and is a founding member of The Stingrays and our head coach. Sue has a keen eye and almost a compulsive desire to see each swimmer perform at their best. She structures every session individually for a quality but fun experience for all the members.
I’m Elizabeth Ryan, and I’m a newcomer to the beautiful Sapphire Coast, having moved here from Sydney in late 2022. Joining the Sapphire Coast Adult Swimming Club was a great way
for me to meet new people, get fit, and become more connected with the community.
In addition to joining as a member, I’m now serving as Club President, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working alongside our dedicated
committee members to ensure the club continues to thrive and provide a welcoming environment for adult swimmers of all levels.
When I first learned to swim as a child, my technique left a lot to be desired. But thanks to the guidance and expertise of Sue, our Head Coach, my stroke has improved dramatically. Her coaching and support have made a real difference in my swimming abilities. I can now
swim with better form and confidence, and that’s been incredibly motivating!
I have a real passion for both HAGS (our fun social swimming sessions) and racing. Whether it's for fitness, fun, or competition, I love the community spirit and sense of accomplishment that comes from being part of this amazing club.
I'm excited for what the future holds for our club and look forward to helping more people improve their swimming and have fun along the way!
